Vilnius - Žaliasis tiltas 1916

The first postcard was posted in 1916 during ww1 German occupation by the Rekruten Depot (Field recuit depot) of 10th Army, from the Feldpost (Fieldpost) station number 166 which was stationed almost through out the war in Wilna, now Vilnius. The field recuit depot was replacement center where newly sent soldiers had the final training before being placed at the front or, for the front soldier to learn about new equipements or weaponries.
The picture is the Žaliasis tiltas (Grüne Brücke in German or Most Zielony in Polish, literally meaning "Green Bridge") in Vilnius, a steel brigde painted in green where it's name was taken from. The bridge in the picture on destroyed by the Germans in 1944, the present one is a rebuilt version of 1952.

A card of the same brigde, this time sent from the 20th Reserve Corps. Unfortunately not really clear but you can see the Twin headed Eagle, the coat of arms of the Romanov family who were ruling Russia at the time when the bridge has been constructed.
