Vilnius 1910

This is a beautiful postcard of Троки / Troki (now Trakai, Lithuania) sent in 1910 from the post office Вильна Вокзаль / Vilna Vokzal (Vilnius railway station) to Рига / Riga. The picture is so beautiful that it makes you think of an artistic modern photography. Trakai castle was and still is a popular day trip site for tourists and Vilnius residents as well. The postmarks are interesting, the right one is a perfin cancel of Vilnius station, the middle one is a regular cancel of the same post office and the left one is a machine arrival cancel of Riga.

Vilnius 1937

This is a Polish postal stationery sent in 1937 from Wilno (now Vilnius. Lithuania) to Brussels, Belgium,  somehow spelled "Brussel" which is the Dutch spelling. It has a nice machine cancel with a slogan "zwalczymy ciemnote" (let's fight ignorance) which is probably trying to encourage people to go to school or to get an education. The value imprinted is 30 Gr. with the illustration of magnificent castle of Mir, now in Belarus.

Kaunas 1932, 1934

2 covers sent from Kaunas central post office (postmark "Kaunas C." or "Kaunas centr.") with machine-cancellations. There is an inscription written: pirkime tik savo krašto gaminius, it means: Let's buy only our own country's products. The first cover is a normal international letter, therefore franked with a 60 centų(pluriel of "centas") stamp. The 2nd cover is a Spausdintas/Printed matter and correctly franked with a 10 centų stamp.

Vilnius 1938

A postcard during the Polish occupation sent to Cieszyn, Silesia/Śląsk in Poland. Wilno is the Polish name for Vilnius. There is a machine cancellation with an advertisement of the post encouraging companies to advertise on their cancellations. the picture on the card is the Aušros Vartai/Ostra Brama.
