Vilnius 1911

Villecomtal-sur-Arros, Department of Gers, France

A cover sent in 1911 from Вильна/Vilna, now Vilnius, to Villecomtal-sur-Arros, a village in the department of Gers in France, not far from the Spanish border. The letter inside is interesting, depicting the sender, a young french man who has spent sometime in Vilnius at that time. He writes about the rich Russian family where he stayed and few French officers which he became friends with during his stay in Vilnius. On the back there is an arrival cancellation of Villecomtal-sur-Arros dated 2/5 1911 which shows us that it took near 22 days to reach there.
