This is a registered cover sent in 1913 from ПоневѢж / Ponevezh (now Panevėžys, Lithuania) in Ков (Kovna/Kaunas Gubernia) to Riga, Latvia, at the time both places part of the Russian empire.
Hello Flamie, Thank you for stopping by this blog! Your question is simple but very difficult to answer.. hm.. There's something special about Lithuanians and Lithuanian history. Having lived in Lithuania, it just facinated me. Its like the sun is shining but you see this huge cloud beyond the horizon where its raining. There is this combination of impossibles in Lithuania. Its very unique, i think. I dont know how to explain. Why its post? Well, it is the easiest piece of history to collect. Collecting other things might cost me much more and it wont be realistic. and further more, post reflects the political history very sensitively more than anything else. I hope i have answered your question ^_^
